This is what confuses me.

First, if the legal fee is inflated; isn it extortion to demand that an 
artificial fee be paid “or else?” Simply charging an inflated fee seems 
unethical.

Second, how could anyone realistically think that their opponent would pay 
their substantial legal fees, unless UF had done so before?

Third, if you take on Callaway pro bono (maybe he comes from crazy money, most 
students don’t), why would you run up a $400K fee that you know he couldn’t 
pay?
