I agree with Helen and Darlene. I went many years without missing a
home game even though we moved to NC in the summer of '89. I have to
admit that I have missed more home games in the last few years than I
missed in the previous 20+ years combined. It has just been getting too
difficult and expensive to attend relative to how much fun it used to to
be. I hope Strickland is right and finds a coach that makes it fun
again. I thought McElwain was going to be that coach, but IMO the rug
has been pulled out from under the program again. I will be surprised if
this years recruiting class doesn't fall apart in the end making it
years before a new coach can recover no matter who it is. I also have
been wondering if I shouldn't at least give up half of my tickets. But I
will always support and cheer for the Gators!

A big part of it is just getting older and not wanting to deal with
the difficulties of going to the game from two and a half hours away.
A new coach doesn’t change that for us. Maybe we will go to one game
a
year like we do for basketball, but basketball is so much less
stressful since there is much less traffic and you can choose a game
at the time you want instead of buying tix without knowing when the
game will be. And the game is shorter without all those TV timeouts.
We will still be a Gator Boosters.
