Obviously time will tell but not every coach thrives at a new venue. Cultures are different and success may be measured differently from one venue to another. One of the more scary and probably unfair, things about college football today is that ADs are much more quick to pull the plug on a coach. It used to be that a new coach was given at least four or five years. Now some (Mac) are not even given three years. Taggart has a culture at FSU to overcome. He inherits some good players as does Mullen but can they get them to buy into the coach's program?
I will use a Florida Basketball example. When Don Devoe came to Florida, he looked like a young Bobby Knight, he inherited some great players. He had the talent to compete in the Big Dance. Unfortunately, he could not adapt to the culture and the players would not buy in. He was perhaps the biggest coaching disaster in the history of Florida. Mac would look like a saint by comparison.
