I have a different solution. Let’s take the high road and start a new tradition to highlight the visiting schools band. Take the break between the 1st and 2nd quarter and give them 3 minutes to play whatever they want. We introduce them over the PA, encourage the fans to give them a raucous welcome and all is good. If they still play during We are the Boys after we have asked them nicely, then we tell them they will not be able to perform at halftime the next time they visit the swamp, if they do it again, they won’t be allowed to bring their band with them.
My question is, do we ask/tell them not to play during this time and they are just being disrespectful? Also, does the Pride of the Sunshine play similarly at away games? Its not like the LSU band hasnt been to The Swamp before. I hope Stricklin does something about it.
