Mississippi State’s recruits are relationships developed by Mullen before he
left.

Tennessee is behind us on 247. Not sure where ESPN is coming from on that one.

Mullen, they are saying made a few mistakes going to California and Mississippi
to recruit early in the process last year.

He hasn’t made that mistake for the 2020 class. They are already highly ranked.

intent. [Brad McClenny/The Gainesville Sun]

Gators football signees for the 2019 Class who have been validated by the UF
compliance office:

MOHAMOUD DIABATE

Position: Linebacker

Height: 6-foot-3.5

Weight: 215 pounds

Ranking: No. 8 outside linebacker, No. 215 nationally

Hometown: Auburn, Ala.

High School: Auburn

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early analysis: Diabate could end up playing several spots at UF, but the early
plan is to use him at the ‘Buck’ position once he steps on campus. Diabate has
an opportunity — and the talent — to play early at UF.

KINGSLEY EGUAKUN

Position: Offensive lineman

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 293 pounds

Ranking: No. 41 offensive guard

Hometown: Jacksonville

High School: Sandalwood

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early analysis: Eguakun is one of seven offensive linemen signing with the
Gators this cycle and he’s poised to slot in at guard. UF will look to replace
both starters at guard after the Peach Bowl, meaning Eguakun gives Florida some
much-needed depth at the position.

DEYAVIE HAMMOND

Position: Offensive lineman

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 353 pounds

Ranking: No. 12 offensive guard, No. 174 nationally

Hometown: Lakeland

High School: Lakeland

Early Enrollee?:

Early analysis: Hammond is a highly touted prospect formerly committed to
Alabama, but the Gators were the first SEC program to extend him an offer. He
may be the most collegiate-ready of Florida’s offensive linemen signees.

WILLIAM HARROD

Position: Offensive tackle

Height: 6-foot-5

Weight: 312 pounds

Ranking: No. 27 offensive tackle, No. 307 nationally

Hometown: Fort Washington, MD

High School: National Christian Academy

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early analysis: UF needs a true tackle or three, and Harrod should contend for
a role in the rotation strictly due to the numbers. Getting him on campus in
January is big for UF’s depth in the spring on the line.

JAYDON HILL

Position: Defensive back

Height: 6-foot

Weight: 174 pounds

Ranking: No. 29 cornerback, No. 276 nationally

Hometown: Madison, Ala.

High School: Bob Jones

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early analysis: Landing Hill was huge for the Gators considering their need for
depth behind CJ Henderson and Trey Dean. Like Marco Wilson, Hill is recovering
from a torn ACL, although indications are he’s progressed well in his recovery.
He won’t be ready for spring, but he’ll enroll early and begin learning the
playbook regardless.

TYRON HOPPER

Position: Linebacker

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 205 pounds

Ranking: No. 7 outside linebacker, No. 151 nationally

Hometown: Roswell

High School: Roswell, Ga.

Early Enrollee?: No

Early analysis: Signing Hopper was huge for Mullen, especially considering the
aggressive push from South Carolina late in the cycle. Hopper won’t enroll
until the summer, but his talent still makes him a candidate for early playing
time.

JAELIN HUMPHRIES

Position: Defensive tackle

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 303 pounds

Ranking: No. 17 defensive tackle, No. 272 nationally

Hometown: Lawrenceville, Ga.

High School: Mountain View

Early Enrollee?: No

Early analysis: Humphries marks the first defensive tackle signed by Mullen —
meaning the Gators had to sign a top one to make up for the drop-off at the
position. The Gators have depth waiting in the wings, however, so Humphries
won’t be rushed along.

JALON JONES

Position: Quarterback

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 205 pounds

Ranking: No. 11 dual-threat quarterback, No. 313 nationally

Hometown: Richmond, Va.

High School: Henrico

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early analysis: Jones will likely benefit from the redshirt rule, meaning he’ll
see the field in 2019 in four games. UF now has four scholarship quarterbacks,
but it seems inevitable the Joneses will battle for the job sooner rather than
later.

CHESTER KIMBROUGH

Position: Defensive back

Height: 5-foot-10

Weight: 167 pounds

Ranking: No. 47 cornerback

Hometown: New Orleans, La.

High School: Warren Easton

Early Enrollee?: No

Early analysis: The Gators have depth at the position, although Kimbrough’s
athleticism and sound tackling makes him a candidate to play on special teams
from Day 1. And Mullen has been a proponent of rewarding those who make plays
on special teams with playing time.

DIONTE MARKS

Position: Wide receiver

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 180 pounds

Ranking: No. 105 wide receiver

Hometown: Deland

High School: Deland

Early Enrollee?: No

Early analysis: Marks can play either on the outside or in the slot, and he
also gives the Gators a potential returner down the road. His talents were on
full display during a stellar season at Deland, and Marks’ skill-set could see
him hit the field in some capacity sooner rather than later.

JESIAH PIERRE

Position: Linebacker

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 220 pounds

Ranking: No. 42 outside linebacker

Hometown: Mount Dora, FL

High School: Mount Dora Christian Academy

Early Enrollee?: No

Early analysis: Pierre is part of Florida’s dynamic linebacker class, and he’s
going to slide right inside for the Gators. He’ll work to carve out a role when
he arrives in Summer.

RILEY SIMONDS

Position: Offensive lineman

Height: 6-foot-4

Weight: 300 pounds

Ranking: No. 29 offensive guard

Hometown: Buford, Ga.

High School: Buford High

Early Enrollee?: No

Early analysis: Simonds wasn’t expected to sign with the Gators until February,
but the guard prospect couldn’t wait to put pen to paper. He’s a top-30
offensive guard in this class and gives Florida more depth in the future at a
position of need.

LLOYD SUMMERALL

Position: Defensive end

Height: 6-foot-5

Weight: 220 pounds

Ranking: No. 15 weakside defensive end, No. 237 nationally

Hometown: Lakeland

High School: Lakeland

Early Enrollee?: No

Early analysis: The addition of Summerall is huge for the Gators. He’s a true
defensive end, and they’re bound to lose several after this season. He could
earn himself a spot in the rotation, but he’ll be a critical cog after the 2019
season.

MICHAEL TARQUIN

Position: Offensive lineman

Height: 6-foot-5

Weight: 290 pounds

Ranking: No. 24 offensive tackle, No. 281 nationally

Hometown: Citra, Fla

High School: North Marion

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early analysis: Tarquin became the first prospect to send in his signed letter
of intent Wednesday, ending a commitment that seemed set to finish in Miami.
Florida flipped him on Nov. 30 and he’ll be on campus come January to
contribute to a UF offensive line in for a significant overhaul.

JA’MARKIS WESTON

Position: Wide receiver

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 205 pounds

Ranking: No. 72 wide receiver

Hometown: Clewiston, FL

High School: Clewiston

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early Analysis: Florida has an abundance of wide receivers, meaning Weston will
have time to learn the ropes from UF’s upperclassmen next season. He’ll likely
land outside rather than in the slot.

TRENT WHITTEMORE

Position: Safety/wide receiver

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 190 pounds

Ranking: No. 65 safety

Hometown: Gainesville

High School: Buchholz

Early Enrollee?: No

Early Analysis: Whittemore seems poised to end up at wide receiver — one of
several positions he played for the Bobcats this season. He won’t arrive on
campus until just before the summer, meaning he’ll have a more narrow window to
carve out a role in 2019.

WARDRICK WILSON

Position: Offensive lineman

Height: 6-foot-4

Weight: 305 pounds

Ranking: No. 20 offensive guard

Hometown: Opa Locka

High School: Miami Carol City

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early Analysis: Despite being listed as a guard, Wilson’s future may be at the
tackle position. The position was a point of emphasis for Florida, and getting
seven offensive linemen to sign early is a victory for Florida.

NAY’QUAN WRIGHT

Position: Running back

Height: 5-foot-8

Weight: 188 pounds

Ranking: No. 15 running back, No. 264 nationally

Hometown: Opa Locka, Fl

High School: Miami Carol City

Early Enrollee?: No

Early Analysis: Florida needed to add at least one running back in this class,
and Wright gives the Gators a dynamic one. He had a standout season for Miami
Carol City after coming back from injury and will certainly be a candidate for
early playing time.

ETHAN WHITE

Position: Offensive tackle

Height: 6-foot-5

Weight: 360 pounds

Ranking: No. 48 offensive tackle

Hometown: Clearwater

High School: Clearwater

Early Enrollee?: Yes

Early Analysis: Let’s not mince words here: White is massive — which also means
he may need to put in more work in the weight room than the other six offensive
line signees in Gainesville. If the next nine months go according to plan,
White could crack the rotation. But early indications are he’s a project in
Year 1.

KEON ZIPPERER

Position: Tight end

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 240 pounds

Ranking: No. 4 tight end

Hometown: Lakeland

High School: Lakeland

Early Enrollee?: No

Early Analysis: With the addition of Zipperer, the Gators went 3-for-3 in
Lakeland — a huge coup in an area Florida looked to re-take. Zipperer could
score each time he touches the football, and only the future will tell just
where he ends up. Beating out Miami for his services will pay dividends for
Mullen sooner than later as well.
