I think this may just be one of those times when you have to give your new coach a little latitude and assume he has a reason for what he does, even if it's not obvious to us. It sure doesn’t seem like this kid adds much to a very strong running back room, but it may be for depth as mentioned, it may be that he wants to sprinkle some guys in key position groups who know his system, or it may be that he thinks this is a special player who is going to perform well above his high school rating. Who knows? So many things must change with a new coach in place that I just figure he knows more about what he’s doing than I do, so I’ll just let him do his thing and judge him based on results. Like any of us, he’ll get some of it right and some of it wrong, but in the end he needs to put together a competent team that can win all of the games they’re supposed to win and some of the games they’re not. I’m not as sold on Napier as a lot of others are, but he’s here so I’m ready to give him his chance.
