Fear West Nile no more. A new line of clothes from Seattle-based Ex Officio is engineered to repel insects. The EPA-approved apparel - created in partnership with Buzz Off Insect Shield, a Greensboro, N.C., company - is treated with permethrin, a pesticide that occurs naturally in the chrysanthemum plant but can also be created synthetically. ‘It gives mosquitoes a skull- crushing headache,’ says Ex Officio’s Rick Hemmerling.”

“German manufacturing company Siemens, has built a machine that looks like the upper body of a mannequin and uses similar technology to ironing systems employed by professional clearners and laundries. You just put your shirt overtop and the shell inflates with hot air and presses the shirt into shape in just 6.5 minutes, as compared to the average of 8 minutes ironing it by hand. It could take an hour, as far as I’m concerned - anything’s better than ironing by hand.”
