Bombay Natural History Society is
calling applications for following two posts on contract basis (3 years)
under its Tiger Cell. Tiger Cell Project Manager The person is expected to oversee successful
implementation of the project in Satpura Mountain Ranges and Western Ghats.
He/She should be able to undertake independent field surveys in the Western
Ghats, Satpuras and other surveys as assigned by Conservation Officer.
Interaction with government offices and NGO networking is most crucial part of
this project. He/She should be able to organize seminars/workshops/training
programmes on issues related to tiger conservation. He/She should be able to
write proposals for fundraising for Tiger Cell and its activities in other
important tiger areas in the Western Ghats. Qualifications:
Basic Post Graduate degree in Life science / Zoology /Botany
(Graduate/undergraduate with exceptional skills will be considered). 5
years of field experience in core conservation issues specially related to tiger
conservation is essential. Familiarity with various acts and legislation related
to biodiversity conservation is must. Good writing and communication skills and
knowledge of computers and programmes like Excel/power point/ word and
statistical programmes is must. Valid driving license is must. Good physical
health for rigorous field surveys is essential. The post will be based in BNHS
Head Quarters in Mumbai, however it involves extensive travelling. Age around 30
yrs. Tiger Cell Education Officer Education Officer under Tiger Cell is expected to
successfully implement the project objectives. The job involves environmental
education in and around four protected areas in Satpura Mountain Ranges. He/She
should be able to undertake independent environmental education activities,
campaigns, training programmes, seminars and workshops on issues related to
tiger conservation. Interaction with government offices and NGO networking is
