Movie:
It is a movie about
HIV and AIDS and death.
It is a movie about
being rejected by most of ones family because they can not come to terms with
the situation.
It is a depressing
movie about an aspect of our sexuality that we are always trying to gloss
over.
So why the hell are
we at GB organising a film outing to see my Brother Nikhil.
Because...
...it tells the
story about a sisters love that transcends all the
boundaries.
...it tells the
story about a gay love that survives the trauma and tragedy that befalls
the protagonists.
... it deals with
the subject of homosexuality without trivialising it into a joke while not
adopting a shrill and strident political pro-gay posture.
It is a
straightforward movie about relationships with a backdrop of homosexuality and
HIV and is stunningly told by debutant director Onir.
So join GayBombay as
we show the world that we care about EVERY BROTHER NIKHIL.
Tickets will be
bought at the time of the movie so please do try and come in by about 10:00 so
that we can co-ordinate. The show starts at 10:30 pm

GB, as a support
