Unfortunately, that's more the rule than the exception in the media.
Another example is in the recently released movie "Shaadi se Pehle".
Hero Akshay Khanna is refusing to get married to heroine no. 2 Mallika
Sherawat because he believes he has terminal cancer and is also in
love with heroine no. 1 Ayesha Takia, but hasn't told heroine no. 2
this yet. Heroine no. 2 is puzzled, and, reclining on a beach chair,
begins to ask the hero "Are you ...?", stops and makes a gesture of
limp-wristedness. Then she actually says the words (in a Hindi
movie!) "Are you gay?". The audience giggles.
The director Satish Kaushik has clearly and unambiguously made an
association of limp-wristedness with being gay in this scene.
