The MSMGF followed this statement by submitting comments to the American Psychiatric Association (APA) that highlight the heightened stigma, discrimination, and violence that can result from classifying gender identity variance as a "psychiatric disorder." As an MSM-focused organization, we recognize that some may consider transgender issues to be out of our purview. After all, MSM and transgender issues have been conflated in the past, leading to inappropriate programming, funding gaps, and a dearth of services for transgender populations. Recognizing this, we thought we would use this issue of *Forum Notes* to offer a window into how the Eblast began and the way it is produced. Rooted in the belief that knowledge from one part of the world can inform and inspire important work in another, the Eblast began as an effort to circulate the latest information concerning the health and human rights of MSM around the world. Based on key findings from the analysis, the MSMGF called for greater inclusion of MSM advocates in Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) and other national decision-making processes.
