I am asking because I'm curious..!! Does any sex happen in the picnics, trecks,
and outings organised by GB!!?? I know the organisers do not plan for it (at
least not overtly), but participant may still find time and space to do it..!!!

If so, would really appreceate knowing more about it..i.e. How does it happen,
what type of sexual activity, is it couples or group sex, how private or public
is the sex (can others see you do it? Have you seen others do it? Was seeing or
being seen in the sex act tittilating or exciting?), and how do the organisers
react to this fact or knowledge....!!!???

Any input or insight (even detailed anecdotes in 3rd person without naming
anyone) would be very appreceated. Thank you.

With best regards, yours sincerely,
Aditya Bondyopadhyay

Subject: [GB] GayBombay's Monsoon Trek to Fort Mahuli on Sunday 04 July 2010

Trekking in the Sahyadri mountain ranges is always been a fascinating
adventure. The entire region is a hub of challenging sporting activities and
Mahuli is not an exception. It is a perfect place of trekking especially for
the novices.

Famous for exquisite stone carvings, Mahuli is a beautiful hill fort situated
close to Asangaon in Thane District of Maharashtra. At a height of 762 meters
from sea level, Mahuli has the privilege of being at the highest point in the
Sahyadri Range in Thane District. A cluster of Finger shaped pinnacle makes it
easy to distinguish Fort Mahuli from the near by mountains. The fort is divided
into three parts; to the north is Palasgad, Mahuli in the middle and Bhandargad
to the south.

This fort was the hub of defence activities of the Marathas and has witnessed
numerous important wars. The great Maratha warrior Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
spent a substantial part of his childhood on this fort. This is the fort where
the seeds of Swaraj were sowed in Shivaji’s mind. Fort Mahuli was special to
Shivaji. He tried to win it back as early as possible every time it slipped out
of his hands. No wonder Fort Mahuli is now a hot spot for historians as much as
for trekkers.

Fort Mahuli is nestled in the midst of the thick woody forest of Tansa Wild
Life Sanctuary - a favourite haunt of botanist and zoologists as some of the
rare species of flora and fauna can only be seen here. Click on the following
links to see their pictures Link 1 & Link 2. In order to protect this fragile
ecosystem of these forests the Government of Maharashtra has declared the
entire region as a chemical free zone. The silent and colossal spread of water
of Lake Tansa at the base of the fort makes it more charming. Tansa Lake with a
capacity of 3 million gallons of water is the chief source of drinking water to
Mumbai. The innumerable waterfalls that feed the Lake Tansa are picnicker’s hot
spot in monsoons

A marvellous Jain temple, popularly known as Shri Bhuvan Bhanu Jain Manas
Mandir Tirtha is located at the base of the Mahuli hill. A pancha-dhatu (5
metals) idol of Aadeshwar Bhagwan adorns the Garbha-Griha (Sanctum Sanctorum)
of the temple. The 76 feet pillar less dome and intricate carvings reveal the
architectural brilliance of the makers of this fabulous shrine.

Never trekked earlier? Worried about falling off the cliff? Relax! This trek is
designated as ‘Easy’ according to trekking standards. 5 professional trek
guides, who have travelled far and wide in the Sahyadris and the Himalayas, for
over 10 years, accompany us. Each one of them is trained and has all the
know-how in First Aid & CPR. They will help us make our trek experience an
enjoyable one. This trek is organised in a way to not stretch you too far yet
give you the real trekking experience. People with ailments of the heart like
blood pressure, severe asthma etc. are advised not to consider this trek.

Due to logistical limitations, this trek is strictly open to the first 40 who
register and pay. People from as far as Pune, Nasik, Roha and Vapi can also
join us. To know how to join us from these places click here.

Things to do:
A. Essential clothing and footwear:
1. Wear loose full sleeves shirt or t-shirt of material that can breath, but
does not retain water. Wearing thin hosiery material vests or slips under your
shirt / t-shirt is recommended.
2. Full cotton trouser or light weight track pants / tights that will dry
quickly once wet, Preference is for trousers whose material is light and can
stretch. Avoid heavy jeans. You may also wear gaiters near your ankles this
will prevent your trousers from getting wet due to wet grass
3. Wear good rubber-soled shoes. Trekking shoes or sports shoes that have a
good grip in monsoon. Avoid shoes with high heals or very thick soft rubber
sole.
4. Rain Gear like windcheaters or raincoats (No Umbrellas please, they will be
blown away if we encounter strong winds).
5. Rain Hat or Cap with Shade

B. Carry a waterproof Backpack or Rucksack
Before you pack your items in your bag; stuff all of them in small plastic or
waterproof bags. Carry all your belongings in a backpack or rucksack with light
items at the bottom and top. Heavy items loaded around your shoulders and
closer to your back. If you have, compression straps in your bag use them to
compress your luggage to make it well balanced. In your back-pack or rucksack
the following:
1. A complete set of clothes including undergarments and socks along with a
light Towel (must as you will need to change after the trek),
2. Drinking water (atleast 2 litres)
3. Anti-Dehydration agents like Glucose D or C and Electrol
4. Chocolates and dry fruits as pocket snacks
5. Mosquito / Insect repellent (essential)
6. Spare floaters, slippers, or light canvas shoes.
7. Personal Medication or special foods (if any)
8. Personal Photo Identity (Compulsory) along with your blood group and
emergency phone numbers of your kin
9. A folding umbrella to protect your camera while taking pictures in rain.
This will also be handy if you plan to have your meal while it is raining.
10. Sunhat & Sun Cap with good shade (Remember when it is not raining it can
get warm and sunny)
11. Sun glasses with retainers
12. Waterproof Sunscreen lotion.

C. Nice to have goodies like camera; small binoculars, magnifying glasses and
pocket field guide to make most of the trip. Carry all your electronic items in
water proof bags / Plastic bags

D. A complete No!
1. Consume intoxicating items before or during the trek
2. Litter the place. The ecology of the wilderness is very fragile. Be
eco-friendly. During the trek use recyclable and natural products as much as
possible.
3 Indulge in hanky-panky.
4. Deface or damage any monument by writing or scribbling on them.

Other Notes:
1. You have to be at least 18 years of age to join this trek.
2. GB, as a support group, has created this comfort/safe space for gays. Many
people at the event may be “newbies” (those still coming to terms with their
sexuality and/or those who have mustered the courage to come to such an event
for the first time). We request you to be sensitive to the comfort levels of
others and to behave and dress accordingly.
3. This is not an ordinary trip. It is ideal for those who travel to learn,
grow and enjoy nature, not rest and shop.
4. You and your teammates are out in the wild or remote country location on
your own.  All qualities of teamwork come into play. In times of any crises,
trust your group leaders in decision-making.
5. We will try our best to follow the above-mentioned itinerary. However, there
may be certain last-minute changes to the itinerary due to factors that remain
out of our control.
6. The trip is subjected to various parameters. We advise participants to pack
only curiosity and leave expectations at home.
