Bummer.  This is one of my personal "wake up in the middle of the night
sweating" scenarios.

I think this might be more than a temporary solution, but... Have you
considered using a separate company for your DNS?  I personally really
like the ability to control my own DNS without having to rely on someone
else.

Take a look at nominum (www.nominum.com). These guys do DNS for lots of
big companies. They are the authors of BIND so they know what they are
doing. Their GNS service has a nice Web user interface and frees you from
having to mess with the guts of BIND or (shuuder) MS-DNS. Its also pretty
cheap, $60/year for a small number of records, which would cover the MX,
WWW, FTP etc. definitions.  With a credit card you should be able to have
a working DNS set up in maybe 20 minutes.
