I'm not familiar enough with the VPN bits to comment on that part, but the
subnet part I can.
IF your subnet masks are are overlapping, this would be bad. OTOH, if
they are not, you should be fine.
For example:
11.0.0.0/8 (255.0.0.0) overlap 11.1.1.0/24 (255.255.255.0)
This would cause all sorts of wierd things to happen, though I wont begin
to speculate on it. I can picture a few of them, though.
BUT:
11.0.0.0/24 and 11.1.1.0/24 do not overlap, and would be perfectly fine.
11.0.0.0/16 (255.255.0.0) and 11.1.1.0/24 also do not overlap.
