GNAT Box most likely does better NAT than your router. But then it
depends on the application protocols you plan to use. If you're only
doing http, mail, and other single connection protocols then it might
work. However most routers implement a basic blind NAT, (they don't
look in the application portion of the data packet), so things like
RealAudio generally fail.
The NAT used in the GNAT Box is aware of most of the common "unusual"
application protocols.
You can use IP Pass Through on the GNAT Box if you don't want it to
perform NAT. However what do you plan to do when you need to add
additional hosts to your network? I think you are simply delaying
your problem. Renumbering 16 IP addresses isn't much work.
In my opinion you're going to have an ugly confusing network
configuration if you decide to head off in your planned direction.
