I wonder if GNATBox will ever consider adding the codes to run as DHCP
server for the protected network. If you do, you can set up a scheme to
minimize the initial configuration for improved ease of use. Today, GNATBIX
already comes with pretty good default. The only thing to configure before
it operates is really configuring the EXT NIC & PRO NIC.

If by default, the EXT I/F is set up as the 1st NIC (e.g. ed0) and use DHCP.
There is a high probability for the device to come up first time power up
without any manual configuration.

Then if the PRO I/F is automatically set up for the 2nd NIC (e.g. ed1),
during first time power up, it can first try to run as DHCP client to see if
any server in that LAN. After some pre-determined timeout period, it can
switch itself to be a DHCP server (using some default private IP range).

Yes, some customers may want to have hard coded configurations that met
their own network needs. However, the scheme mentioned may simplify some
first time installation of the LAN & firewall to almost no human
intervention.
