What kind of network cards are you using?
(In case what I am about to say isn't applicable to you, you might want to tell us
your entire GNATbox setup...not just the NICs)

I've had trouble like this myself with GB Lite 2.1 and 3.0.1 until I replaced the
3Com 3c509 network cards I was using with an ed series cards (I used SMC8216, but
the ed driver is used for NE2000 compatable cards, too). I found the buffer error
showing up averaging every couple weeks on GB 2.1 (as often as twice in four days,
as rarely as four or more weeks between problems), more frequently and consistantly
(every couple days!) on GB 3.0.1.

One person here has politely chided me for saying anything negative about 3c509s and
GB, however, after replacing the computer with a very different box (with the same
NIC cards) and then replacing the first pair of 3c509 ("first revison") with 3c509B
cards and having the IDENTICAL results each time, and then replacing them with
SMC8216 cards, and having the system run flawlessly since, I will stick to my
assertion that at least under some circumstances, 3c509 cards and GNATbox do not get
along. Don't get me wrong, I *like* 3c509 cards. I've installed large numbers of
them of them, and dozens of different kinds of other ethernet cards (I do networking
for a living), and for the most part, I'll take a 3c509 over any other ISA Ethernet
cards, but I've become convinced that GB doesn't like them. Or, at least it is
worth trying to replace them.

A friend of mine had very similar results to mine with 3c509 cards, as well. (I may
be insane, but look elsewhere for the proof!)

Possible circumstances which may (or may not!) contribute:
Old 486 computer (first one was an 25MHz SX, second a 33MHz DX) (my friend's
system was a 486 system, too)
"Low" memory (16M on the second machine, 12M on the first)
External cracking attempts (I'm on a cable modem, lots of "dirty stuff" going
on...could be the 3c509 driver might not "hold up" against some cracking attempts).
   Lite version
   ???
