I just want to make some things clear with regard to the VPN Client
and licensing issues.

1. The VPN client is licensed by GTA from SafeNet, Inc. This is the
exact same client that SonicWall, Cisco, NetScreen and most everyone
else in the business uses. The only variation may be in the licensed
version. GTA has the most recent licensed version of the client as
of September 2001.

Since we have no control over the code (like all the companies
mentioned above) or the product, we can not make any changes. We can
make requests to SafeNet however to make any changes they would have
to consider how this would affect all of their other licensees not
just GTA.

GTA has paid a rather large license fee for the use of this client
and will not realize a break even point for perhaps 3 more years.

2. In our first release of the VPN client we had license control on a
per client basis. We heard nothing but complaints about this
arrangement. Additionally the industry norm was to control VPN
client licensing on the firewall.

In version 3.2.0 we changed the licensing of the VPN client to be
controlled on the firewall. This follows the industry norm. It also
removes all the issues customers had with installing the client on
multiple mobile systems (notebooks).

3. With regard to High Availablity and licensing. Both SonicWall and
Watchguard (two similar products) require the customer to purchase
licenses for any options on both HA systems. I believe this is the
case with other firewall vendors in the industry. I know Cisco takes
a different approach however the cost of HA is considerably higher,
(you'll pay one way or another).
