Hi GNATBox Pro's!

This weekend I'm doing some performance testing
with my GNATBox.
In response to the emails on the list I can
confirm that a 486/66 can handle traffic up
to 5 MBit/s (windows 2 windows file copy through
the box)

But I found a problem when transfering email
through the Box using the email proxy. The
transfer of a 3meg email lasts 1040 secs.

Configuration explanation:
>From a notebook ("the internet") I send a mail
with a 3meg PDF file attached with Outlook Express 5
to the GNATBox (486/66) which forwards the email
to an InterScan Viruswall email service on a
PII-350 / 288 Meg RAM. The whole test runs with
10MBit NICs.

When I configure a tunnel from outside port 25
to the Viruswall (outlook express communicates
directly with the VirusWall), the sending of
the same email lasts only 30 seconds ( 1/30
of the time the GNATBox email proxy needs !!!)

Can anyone confirm this to be normal, abnormal or
a configuration error?

The performance counters on the GNATBox show at least
90% idle time during the whole sending process.

I hope I provided enough information.

Many thanks for any help!

Tom.
