Just to tag a few more thoughts on to this...

It is, on the mailserver side, generally a bad idea to relay based on
MX...anyone could add you as an MX and relay mail through you just as if
you were open. (btdtsih)

BUT, for the SMTP proxy, it shouldnt be a major concern...if someone DOES
set you for an MX and it gets through the proxy...your properly configured
mailserver will still reject the messages, and there would of course be a
lot less of them to worry about.

This does of course assume you have a properly configured MTA...
