We currently have our GnatBox (GB-F 3.2.5) configured with static routes to reach our remote subnets, which are configured via frame relay.
We'd like (for various reasons) to dynamically keep up the routing table. As Gnatbox-Flash only supports RIP (when are we gonna see OSPF et al support?) we need to transmit that from our main Cisco router to the GBF. Cisco units can send unicast RIP packets to specific hosts, rather than broadcasting to the whole network. As I'd like to keep the broadcasts to a minimum, I'd like to implement it that way. 1. Has anyone does this before? 2. Does Gnatbox have a problem with processing a unicast RIP packet (not that it should, per the ethernet spec, but you never know)? 3. Does anybody know if GB-anyversion will support a routing protocol other than RIP in the future? Joseph C.
