Okay - we, the listeners are all fascinated by the too-ing and fro-ing about whether one should post the details to the list - however PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - can you tell us whether it was legitimate or not...
If it was just a config mistake, then we welcome you to the collection of muppets which mainly include ourselves (what that rule was doing there, I'm really not sure ...etc etc) - and we will slap you on the back and buy you a pint (well next time you are in England, anyway). If it was legitimate, then we will wait to hear from GTA, but just so as we know what to expect... This is worse than Picnic at Hanging Rock... :-) -----Original Message----- From: Andrew Batson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 27 September 2002 03:00 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [gb-users] Ok, now I a little unsure I should have said anything about it Hello All, First off, sorry if it my post got people worried or upset. I did not mean too. I was looking for a contact about the problem I had found. As I stated in the email I did not know if it was a problem with the GNATbox or a miss configuration on my part (not sure but the configuration is the same in version 3.2.5 and 3.3.0). At any rate, I work during the day (East coast time zone) and so did not get to look at my email on this until I got home this evening. Please folks, before people start wonder why some one does not respond in very quickly, remember that the poster may have work during the day. Also, please don't start questioning some ones skills or knowledge just because they don't seem to ask or state the information in some way other feels it should be. Even one things differently and learn differently. Yes, I did received a email from the folks at GTA and did send them back the information they requested. The reason I did not use [EMAIL PROTECTED] was that when I read the information on support, it said you have to have a support contract. Thus I did not figure it would get an answer or even read. I am not looking for nor do care for the "bug report" credit. The way I look at it, that whole "bug report glorious credit" stuff is BS. All I wanted to know what was wrong if anything. I did not wanted to explain on this list how I did it because I am concerned that if this did turn out to be problem, then the cat is out of the bag before GTA can do anything. Maybe that is wrong, but you know if I had post the details, and it turn out to be a problem, I would have had other(s) going off on me saying for not having notified GTA people first. I guess, no matter how you report possible problems, you are always up the creek with out a pattle. Again, sorry if it seems I did not report this in the correct way - what ever that is. I am tired and beat for may long weeks at work and wish I had never, ever said anything. I tired to do what I thought was the right and responsible thing and now I am not so sure.
