This certainly isn't new. It's one of the oldest scams going. I have gotten these for years. I even remember years ago, (before they discovered email) receiving regular postal mail from Nigeria with the same type of letter. There must be a regular course offered in Western Africa on how to write these letters.

The sad thing is people actually have fallen for this scam.
