The log message indicates that the packet is a TCP Reset (flag=0x4) packet. This message just indicates that a Reset packet was not expected, (as Reset packets are generally used to terminate/reset a session). Could also be a case of someone forging a packet and sending the reset to screw things up or attempt to hijack a session, (possible but maybe unlikely). Since you'd send a Reset to one side while you jump in the middle and start talking to the other.
Well, this is happening on several hosts from within my network to and from random hosts outside my network. Is it possible that this is an issue with the GB-1000? I really don't think it's just random hosts on the Internet as well as my internal hosts sending packets such as these without a real cause. This is a problem, especially since it's random and it affects incoming mail connections. Not only do I not receive the mail message, but I am not aware that their mail server even attempted to connect to mine unless I review the firewall logs and see that there were a bunch of 'Rejecting unexpected packet' messages from their host. I need to get this resolved, and I'm suspecting something with the firewall since I don't know what else to blame really.
