Do you have room in the rack for another device? I can probably think of something really cheap that will hold an ip and respond to pings. :)

Correct; I didn't make it clear that this in a colo facility, so all there is between my pair of GB's and the ISP's edge router is a dumb hub (not even a switch; there's no other reason for it here). I know that ideally, for a true HA setup, each GB should go to a different router (or at least interface) within the ISP, but for this setup, that's not possible without mucho $$$. Similarly, the ISP isn't particularly co-operative about changing their router filters; to be fair, were I in there shoes, I probably wouldn't be either. So, assuming I don't want to be pinging somewhere "public" (eg Google or Yahoo), how should I best proceed, such that HA doesn't shutdown a good interface when the other one in the pair goes bad? -- Phil Dye, Technical Services Manager A L C H E M Y D I G I T A L Tel: +44 (0)23 8021 3400 http://www.alchemydigital.com/ ------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive: http://archives.gnatbox.com/gb-users/ ------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive: http://archives.gnatbox.com/gb-users/
