Thanks for the pointer Maarten, I should have skimmed a little more thoroughly :)
I'm a bit confused by the second suggestion though, at this site there is one router, (for one dsl connection) with one Ethernet port on the lan side, so I am certainly going to need to put something in between the router and the two ext GB interfaces. I don't see how the ISP can help with this? -----Original Message----- From: Maarten Vink [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 21 June 2007 14:38 To: Richard Stevens Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [gb-users] high availability pairing Hi Richard, Have a look at the chapter titled "H2A on Two Subnets" in the manual (http://www.gta.com/downloads/external/50/General/H2A_Guide_5.0.pdf). This covers the situation you're in. You can configure the H2A setup, but since you only have a single public IP you won't be able to manage the standby firewall from the internet. Regarding your second question: depending on your ISP, you might be able to get two uplink cables, connecting to different switches on your ISP's side, thus increasing your redundancy.
