Actually I figured out an obvious way to reduce it after looking at the error
message and seeing that the
unused parameter was pointing to the prototype of the function:
template<int> void f(int);
void g(int i)
{
f<0>(i);
}
template<int> void f(int i __attribute__((unused)) )
{}
