1. it is a bug to create temporaries and assert 'volatile' on them 2. there is code in create_tmp_var_raw() that creates a type with qualifiers removed, but this new_type is then not used at the moment. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=27445
