Why, before filing pretty trivial PRs don't you search a bit Bugzilla and the
docs? In this specific case, just use this->i or follow
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-3.4/changes.html.
In general, I would suggest seriously studying any good book treating templates
(eg, Vandevoorde & Josuttis).
