I already reasoned that that might have been the case, but it seems false,
because if I compile the following snippet with GCC 4.5.1 with the command `gcc
newtest.c -std=c99 -Wall', I get no warning about the uninitialized use of the
`i' variable (only when I add `-O' I get the warning).

int main(void)
    for (int i; i < 32; ++i)
        printf("%d\n", i);

    return 0;
