Could you please provide details how exactly the bootstrap fails?  With
the exception of the libstdc++ include/<target>/bits directory, the
gthr* files aren't supposed to be installed at all.

I suppose that e.g. on AIX gthr-default.h's (really, gthr-aix.h's)
#include "config/gthr-posix.h" fails to find the latter?  In that case,
gthr-posix.h should be moved up to libgcc itself, as my original patch
had it, before Paolo objected.
