No, not on trunk please. As I said on IRC yesterday. Before we even consider this for the 4.9 branch, please verify that inlining does not cause the same problems with the benchmark (on the particular architecture you care for). It is certainly capable of doing that and we certainly do not want to switch inlining off :-)
