Just to note. David filed a binutils bug report about this issue too:

A patch has been applied to the assembler to allow the .cfi_sections directive
to be issued multiple times, provided that CFI generation has not been started.
Hence the need for a gcc fix is reduced. It would be nice however if gcc was
consistent about its generation of .cfi_section directives.
