The array descriptor changes are on the fortran-dev branch, which apparently isn't ready for merging yet. So it seems we'll bump the ABI both for GCC 7 and for GCC 8.. :( The plan was to do all the changes at once so we don't have to bump the ABI many times, but it was accidentally broken for GCC 7 before fortran-dev was ready. As for the rest of the list, we'll see. I don't have that much time myself, but maybe if the other maintainers would take an interest.
