--- Comment #9 from Dennis Clarke <dclarke at blastwave dot org> --- OKay, this is a surprise to me but I will take it as a given in the linux world that a 32-bit linker binary is not able to perform linkage with objects that are in a different ELF class. My experiences in the SPARC world of Solaris don't help me here ( no surprise ) so I will get the binutils sources and fall down that rabbit hole a while and then return here with 64-bit binutils in hand. So let's keep this bug open for now.
