Agreed: regular support for Solaris 10 has ended in January 2018 (with
extended support until January 2021). Cf.p.34 of

Before Solaris 7, the releases were called 2.x, thus the configure
triplet. They weren't changed at that time for compatibility reasons,
so we're stuck with the 2.x nomenclature forever.
