Confirmed with GCC 4.2.4 and -O0 -finline -m32 -fPIC.  GCC 4.3 already no
longer likes the preprocessed source.  Unincluded it still fails with GCC
4.7.4.  It works with GCC 7.5, I could not check GCC 6.

I conclude it's fixed.
