I would like to give this easyhack a try. I reproduced the x86 testcase on
current GCC trunk (GCC 17.0.0 20260714, commit 210be97619bb). Optimized GIMPLE
still contains __builtin_ia32_pavgw (x, x), and the generated assembly contains
pavgw.
