--- Comment #2 from Patrick McNally <rpmcnally at gmail dot com> --- The only version I see that produces the static symbol (t) is 16.2.0, though I have not tried 17. Every prior version that I've tested produces a global symbol (T). I'm happy to provide whatever information would be helpful, but since I don't often submit reports, I might need some guidance on the type of information you want. I'm using a gcc-16.2.0 I built from source with: ../configure --prefix=/opt/create/gcc/16.2.0 --disable-multilib --enable-languages=c,c++,fortran --enable-shared Additional information: $ gfortran -v Using built-in specs. COLLECT_GCC=gfortran COLLECT_LTO_WRAPPER=/home/create/gcc/16.2.0/bin/../libexec/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/16.2.0/lto-wrapper Target: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu Configured with: ../configure --prefix=/opt/create/gcc/16.2.0 --disable-multilib --enable-languages=c,c++,fortran --enable-shared Thread model: posix Supported LTO compression algorithms: zlib zstd gcc version 16.2.0 (GCC) $ cat /etc/os-release NAME="Red Hat Enterprise Linux" VERSION="8.10 (Ootpa)" ID="rhel" ID_LIKE="fedora" VERSION_ID="8.10" PLATFORM_ID="platform:el8" PRETTY_NAME="Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 (Ootpa)" ANSI_COLOR="0;31" CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:redhat:enterprise_linux:8::baseos" HOME_URL="https://www.redhat.com/" DOCUMENTATION_URL="https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/8" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://issues.redhat.com/" REDHAT_BUGZILLA_PRODUCT="Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8" REDHAT_BUGZILLA_PRODUCT_VERSION=8.10 REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT="Red Hat Enterprise Linux" REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT_VERSION="8.10"
