The path ranger used by the threader is whining about an abnormal edge it didnt
expect to see..  The question is whether when the path ranger invokes fold and
simplification, should any requests use the path ranger, or should it instead
be the root ranger. 

I would think the path ranger should handle it fine since blocks are
specified...  and it picks up ranges from within the path, then defers to the
root ranger for things outside the path... otherwise we are going to get values
that are not path specific.   its just trapping on the presence abnormal edge
in a PHI...
