Unfortunately this patch broke Solaris bootstrap: e.g. the generated
libm2cor/SYSTEM.def contains
EXPORT QUALIFIED (* the following are built into the compiler: *)
-n
-n LOC,
-n WORD,
-n BYTE,
-n ADDRESS,
-n INTEGER8,
The problem is that echo -n is unportable, as documented in the autoconf docs.
There are two ways out, I believe: use $(SHELL) to invoke makeSystem instead
of hardcoding sh or use printf "%s", ... as recommended in the autoconf docs.
