I noticed that the issue disappeared on trunk and the fix bisected to
fc96e933de8 "fold-mem-offsets: Group changes by shared fold insns [PR126412]".

So not a bug in 4fe2072d5d "tree-optimization/126887 - allow backward threading
to loop exit", it just setup the right conditions. I'll close as a duplicate of
PR126412
