--- Comment #18 from GCC Commits <cvs-commit at gcc dot gnu.org> --- The master branch has been updated by Sam James <[email protected]>: https://gcc.gnu.org/g:f5e51990065524e05d04dd25f4ef9efb350ccff5 commit r17-5227-gf5e51990065524e05d04dd25f4ef9efb350ccff5 Author: Sam James <[email protected]> Date: Fri Oct 9 22:09:49 2026 +0100 libiberty: drop obsolete C functionality tests AC_C_CONST was marked as an obsolescent macro back in autoconf 2.60. I'd be very surprised if buillding GCC (or binutils/gdb) is doable with a C compiler that has broken const and inline. binutils already requires C99. We don't need AC_C_INLINE for a similar reason. libiberty/ChangeLog: PR bootstrap/112422 * config.in: Regenerate. * configure: Regenerate. * configure.ac: Drop AC_C_CONST and AC_C_INLINE.
