            Bug ID: 127955
           Summary: Broken strsignal, strbk fallbacks
           Product: gcc
           Version: 16.0
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Keywords: build
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: other
          Assignee: unassigned at gcc dot gnu.org
          Reporter: sjames at gcc dot gnu.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Both of these are wrong fallbacks for when we can't find strsignal or sbrk:

gcc/system.h:extern const char *strsignal (int);
gcc/system.h:511:extern void *sbrk (int);

strsignal's return type isn't const. We define it in libiberty with the correct
return type anyway for the actual implementation: r0-88033-g6819ba36b3805c.

As for sbrk, it takes a ptrdiff_t, not an int.

I'll fix both of these though we would expect these fallbacks to not really
ever be needed. I only saw them because of an unrelated issue when finding GMP
(PR127954).
