I tried your fix on m68k-amigaos (a target maintained off-tree).
With it, I can run the entire gcc.c-torture/execute suite on a 68000 sim
with no failures. Previously, we had a few failures caused by miscompiled
functions such as towupper() and towlower().
Also no regressions for -m68020 on our 68020 sim.
I would recommend merging this fix.
