LLVM produces branchless here:
```
        cmp     rdi, rdx
        mov     rax, rsi
        sbb     rax, rcx
        setl    al
        cmp     rdx, rdi
        sbb     rcx, rsi
        setl    cl
        sub     cl, al
        movsx   eax, cl
```

Seems like GCC could do something similar.
