Thanks for the tip. For this patch I have dropped the tests per Jeff's suggestion — the existing splitter tests already cover functional correctness, and the register coalescing benefit is hard to test robustly. But I will keep the back-reference technique in mind for future cases where it matters. Best regards, Jin Ma
