configure eerror, no acceptable cc found in$PATH, please help

dear gcc:

  when I try to install gcc 4.0 at my apple mac os X , 7.9.0 (by uname
-r),
when I ./configure
it reply error as no acceptable cc found in $PATH

  if that need c compiler be install, please tell where, (if binary ,
please indicate the one not through MAC installer)?
