My patch to fix this isn't at all obvious that it is correct to me. There are no signs that it will be reviewed anytime soon, so, I'd say please revert the patch that broke the build. :-( Not my preference, but, I'd rather have a tree that builds and a regression checker that will catch the regressions that people are putting in. :-(
