I then noticed that there's lots of details in autobuilder/Autobuilder.html
and autobuilder/Packaging.html. Is there any particular reason these are in
the source tree not the wiki? Currently the only way to view them if you
don't have a source tree is to use webSVN and read the HTML source, which
isn't great.
Simply that the instructions predate the wiki. We can deprecate the
former and refer to the wiki.
FWIW I'm building AOF on GCC 3 at the moment.
Realistically, due to the amount of time we have, that combination isn't
entirely supported. It may or may not work for certain items.
No problem, I realised that. I just didn't have the time to grab
everything and rebuild it all from scratch again, and was prepared to put up
with any brokenness. AFAICS it worked fine once I flipped the
AB_ELFBUILD switch.
I'm still not sure about doing more work on the older version, but my
recommendation is if it's going to be used in anger with the
autobuilder, that its porting-tools directory be discarded and instead
have the Makefile check out the version from the trunk.
